“Life is a Cabaret…” The Ghent Playhouse presents Cabaret
Willkommen! Join us at the Ghent Playhouse where the stage is transformed into The Kit Kat Club as we present Cabaret, Tony Award-winner for Best Play in 1967 and again in 1998 for its revival. Directed by Matthew Teichner, this production runs March 16, 2018 through April 1, 2018. Book by Christopher Isherwood; Music by John Kander; Lyrics by Fred Ebb.
Set amid the backdrop of 1930’s Germany as it begins to slide toward the Nazis, an American writer living in Berlin, meets an eccentric dancer at a decadent cabaret called The Kit Kat Club, who changes his life forever.
Cast includes Playhouse favorites Sally McCarthy as Fraulein Schneider, Monk Schane-Lydon as Herr Schultz, Mike Meier as Ernest Ludwig, Emily Spateholts as Fraulein Kost, Mae Rogers as Fritzie and Erin Harwood as Rosie. Also on stage are Playhouse newcomers Nicole Mecca as Sally Bowles, Brian McBride Land as the Emcee, Alex Benson as Clifford Bradshaw, Bethany Geiger as Frenchie, Nicole Molinski as Lulu, Chloe Vader as Texas, and Kathleen Rembish as Helga.
Cabaret at The Ghent is Choreographed by Mae Rogers. Joey Rainome is Assistant Director and Music Coach is Cathy Schane-Lydon. Joanne Maurer is designing costumes, Artistic Director Cathy Lee-Visscher and Sam Reilly are designing /dressing the set and Izzy Filkins is providing Lighting Design. Co-produced by Kelly Mackerer and Linda Murawski.
Friday and Saturday performances are at 8 pm and Sunday matinees are at 2 pm. Tickets are $22 each, $17 for Members of the Playhouse and $10 for Students with ID. Tickets may be reserved by calling 1-800-838-3006 or going to the website at www.ghentplayhouse.org.
