GHENT PLAYHOUSE SEEKING DIRECTORS’ SUBMISSIONS
FOR ITS 2023-2024 THEATRE SEASON
The Ghent Playhouse, a non-profit community theater located at 6 Town Hall Place in Ghent, NY, is currently accepting proposals from directors interested in submitting productions for its 2023-24 theater season.
While the Playhouse is looking for a well-rounded season in all genres: comedy, drama, farce, etc., it is particularly interested in musical submissions. We do try to include at least one musical in our lineup each season.
In addition to its annual Panto, presented by the “Pantoloons” in late November - early December, the Ghent Playhouse offers four additional productions in the following time slots:
Slot #1 – October 2023
Performances: 10/06-08, 10/13-15, 10/20-22
Slot #2 – November-December 2023
Performances: 11/14-26, 12/01-03, 12/08-10
Reserved for the Annual Panto
Slot #3 – February 2024
Performances: 2/01-03, 2/08-10, 2/15-17
Slot #4 – April 2024
Performances: 4/05-07, 4/12-14, 4/19-21
Slot #5 – May-June 2024
Performances: 5/31-6/02, 6/07-09, 6/14-16/24
Let us know if there are any slots where you would be unable to direct. You may also request a specific slot, and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
**PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL DIRECTORS ARE EXPECTED TO PROVIDE AN
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR/STAGE MANAGER FOR THEIR PRODUCTION.
Those interested may submit up to three (3) shows for consideration, and are asked to provide the following information to Ghent Playhouse Artistic Director, Cathy Lee-Visscher: your name, address, telephone number, email address, and the title and playwright of the shows you wish to submit. Kindly also provide a brief resume, along with an overview of what you feel will be needed for your production with regard to set, lights, costumes, etc.
